damyst tagged me for 6 weird things, and i'll put a quick twist on it and list out the 6 stupidest things i've ever done.  i was inspired b/c i burned my foot this weekend.  the quick story is i tried to take a hot bath to soothe my aching legs but didn't check the water temperature in the bath despite sooj's warning the water was scalding hot.  anyway, there are two burn blisters on my foot and it hurt a TON.  but more importantly, i still toughed it out and skied the next day.  haha.

here's my list, in no particular order of stupidity:

6) the burn incident

5) pulling the weighted stopper off a pressure cooker.  hot soup shot out the little hole, hit the ceiling, and bounced off back on me and my mom

4) falling off a slide when i was like 4 or 5 and landing on my head while trying to impersonate the girl on the slide next to me.  my first stitches.

3) doing forward flips on my my parents bed, then banging my nose into the bridge of my classes and cutting myself pretty badly.

2) hitting myself in the forehead with a crowbar while trying to remove nails, leading to my 2nd time getting stitches.

1) breaking my ankle 6 weeks before my wedding

hi folks.  a few random thoughts for today.

one, i really like it when the charles freezes over.  its one of my personal signals that winter, one of my favorite seasons, has arrived.  and i think it looks so cool when the river turns white and is flat.

second, i think 2007 could be a fun year for movies.  at the top, the new transformers movie is coming out in july.  i think most people around my age have a lot emotionally invested in transformers so they better get this movie right and not mess it up.  there is nothing worse than being endlessly loyal to a childhood television series but then seeing it ruined by some crappy movie released 15 years later.  but i watched the trailers last night and it looks promising.  also coming out--an animated version of teenage mutant ninja turtles, an under-rated cartoon powerhouse, and the next harry potter.  lots to look forward too.

lastly, an ode to soup noodles.  they are my favorite food in the whole world.  here is my list of soup noodles that belong in the soup noodle pantheon or my personal soup noodle hall of fame.  i'll start from the bottom of the list and move up:

cambell's classic chicken noodle soup.  suprisingly good after all these years.  just the right amount of salt, and those little sticks they call noodles are actually kinda tasty.  the dehyrdrated cubes of chicken are a bit wierd but overall, the soup really works for me.

pho - extra large beef noodle soup.  this soup packs quite the party.  it has beef slices, tendon, tripe, and all kinds of other parts i don't recognize. you can add basil, lime, bean sprouts, sriracha.  its good but the rice noodle isn't quite as tasty as the wheat noodles in the soups to follow.

jam bong--the spicey korean seafood soup noodle.  the broth is crazy tasty and has a little extra kick.  quite yummy although a lot of times the seafood is not fresh and can even be a little mysterious.

udon.  if soup noodles are architectural styles, pho would be "rococo" and udon would like Richard Meier's Getty Museum.  A few basic materials but elegant, simplie, and dramatic.  one of my favorite's is at hana sushi past porter sq on mass ave.  i also really like cold soba noodles.  great on a hot summer day.  not quite a soup noodle but a really close cousin that deserves mention.

wonton and soup noodles.  good wonton is hard to find but boy oh boy, can it be an existential experience when done right.  there's this dive place in flushing that makes GREAT wonton.  since i love noodles and i love meat, wonton is the perfect match since its basically meat wrapped in noodle.

ramen.  not the fake, instant noodle ramen, but the real japanese ramen that you can only get at noodle shops.  ramen sits at the top of my pantheon.  the perfect soup noodle.  noodles have the perfect consistency, the broth has the perfect structure, flavor, and complexity.  and it comes in a huge number of varieties.  there's one place in back bay that's ok but i think ken's noodle house in super 88 is the best in boston.

hooray for soup noodles (and cupcakes, another favorite of mine)

i should clarify since i got a couple of questions.  the bathroom video was the bathroom in my hotel when i was in vegas.  not a new bathroom in my house.  haha.
